Lucky loser South takes advantage of her luck and reaches round 3 in LA

Mel South took advantage of her good fortune in Los Angeles, as after entering the draw as a lucky loser, she reached the 3rd round.
Taking the place of Serena Williams, South beat Petra Kvitova of the Czech Republic 6-4, 6-2, and will face either Sania Mirza or Meng Yuan in the 3rd round.
Kvitova, ranked 66 in the world had played a decent season so far, and had come through a 3 set match in the first match against Kleybanova, but struggled on serve today, serving 7 double faults, and winning just 24% of points on her second serve.
South broke 3 times in each set, and she played one of her best matches of the season, and for the time being takes the British number 2 spot.
